This sterilised grain (oat) bag is ideal for making your own master grain spawn. The grain bag is ready for inoculation using one of our live liquid culture syringes.
Each bag contains a .2 micron breathable filter patch to allow for sterile gas exchange and a self-healing injection port to be used with our liquid culture syringe.
Please allow your sterilised grain bag to sit for 1-2 weeks upon arrival to be sure product was not compromised during transit. Sterilised grain bags can be stored for several months at room temperature before inoculation.
Once inoculated, allow your bag to colonise in a cool location out of direct sunlight. Temperature for incubation shouldn’t exceed 23º c or dip below 12°c. After a couple weeks or so you should start to see mycelium growing on the grain.
Instructions
Wipe down injection port with the alcohol wipes provided. Using gloves, replace the tip of your liquid culture syringe with the sterile 18G needle provided. Shake up the syringe thoroughly to distribute the mycelium and flame the needle until red hot. Cool down the needle with alcohol and inject 3-6ccs into a self-healing injection port. Once inoculated, let your bag colonise in a place away from direct sunlight at a temperature of 12-23 degrees Celsius.
Fruit in equine dung and enriched soils.
Storage
Room temperature or 4C. The grain bag is stable for several months. However, over time moisture levels degrade quality of product. We recommend using this product immediately for best results.
